By now, you are probably familiar with Thierry Guetta aka Mr. Brainwash. An ex proprietor of a clothing store and videographer who evolved into a street and gallery artist. Guetta's artwork is heavily influenced by well known street artists including Banksy and Shepard Fairey. His biggest claim to fame is a starring role in the 2010 Oscar-nominated, pseudo-documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop, directed by Banksy.
The latest Art Show 2011 opened for a preview before Christmas in Los Angeles to huge crowds of enthusiastic street art fans. The enormous space is filled with collages, graffiti and large-scale sculptures including an impressive Polaroid Sun 600 Camera! Guetta is no stranger to Polaroid having experimented with his Warhol-esque silk screen prints of the classic Polaroid Land Camera 360.
The show has now been extended due to overwhelming demand for two days only on Jan 1st and 2nd, located at 960 N. La Brea Ave., near Romaine Street, Los Angeles.
“Mr. Brainwash is a force of nature, he’s a phenomenon. And I don’t mean that in a good way.” - Banksy
