In 2008 the Polaroid corporation announced that the incredible invention of Edwin Land had a permanent expiration date that no refrigeration can postpone; to cease manufacturing of instant film products. Following the shock announcement, Save Polaroid was born and set up shop and assembled artists and fanatics to save the beloved Polaroid.
One of the chosen artists, Rod Hunting was asked by Save Polaroid to produce a limited run of his Polaroid print to be auctioned off on ebay to raise money for Save Polaroid. He came up with 500 red Polaroids shot over a space of 2 years. Hunting said the project had also become a way for him to explore the new neighbourhood he had just moved into.
