I ♥ Death of a Polaroid: A Manics Family Album

For the best part of 20 years Manic Street Preachers' bassist and lyricist Nicky Wire has been collecting mementos in the form of Polaroids. Documenting their various stages from Generation Terrorists through Everything Must Go and right up to last year's 10th album, Postcards from a Young Man. Wire had the huge and if not impossible task of editing down from over 1,000 of his personal Polaroids. The end result is a stunning visual biography of one of the most loved, iconic and creative British bands of the past two decades. Death of a Polaroid: A Manics Family Album is published today by Faber & Faber.

  1. This is a pretting interesting post, and the Manics are actually an interesting bunch of lads.

  2. Wow!! I love these kinds of books - you get far more of an insight into a band than your standard biography... although I don't envy curating and editing over 1,000 polaroids!
