"Dreamlands, Wastelands" - Polaroid emulsion lift on paper 2013 © Rhiannon Adam |
These pieces echo life experience, where one journey leads to another, and experiences are interconnected. The fluidity and delicacy of the process mirrors the fragility of memories, and how these can be altered by outside influences. - Rhiannon Adam on her series of large-scale Polaroid emulsion lift composite works.
This amazing Margate/Arlington Polaroid emulsion lift composite piece caught my eye yesterday. It's the work of London Polaroid Photographer/curator Rhiannon Adam. Originally hailing from Co. Cork, Ireland, she has been taking Polaroids for over ten years. Rhiannon shoots with expired Polaroid films and Impossible Project materials. Her work is regularly featured and published in high profile publications like COLORS, Dazed & Confused, Bonjour Pola and Shot of The Day Book. More recently she has been working on a series of large-scale Polaroid emulsion lifts like the above Margate/Arlington masterpiece. Rhiannon also runs workshops on her emulsion lift techniques and can be contacted for bookings and requests via her website. Check out more of her great Polaroid work on flickr and facebook.
